Tonight, I just saw the documentary Shut Up and Sing which chronicles what happened to the career of the country band Dixie Chicks after its lead singer made a statement against president Bush during a 2003 live show in London. This is an excellent depiction of the inside workings of the music industry and of how censorship affects artists who choose to speak their mind, especially if they have a conservative fan base.
I liked the Dixie Chicks anyway, but now I have a newfound love for them. The film does a great job at showing how strong the three women are, professionally and personally. I highly recommend you see this flick while it's still in theatres or when it comes out on DVD. And go support the Dixie Chicks!!! I'm buying their new album right now!!
